The Egyptian Center for Thought and Strategic Studies in Cairo launched an annual publication in Arabic and English under the title: "2019 Outlook .. Egyptian Prospect for the most prominent issues of the region and the world".
The aim of this publication is to develop the Egyptian research ability to predict trends and phenomena in a complex world characterized by successive changes, which will enlighten public opinion and develop policy-making capacity. Egypt's proactive approach to the region and the world.
Although the internal Arab conflicts (Libya, Syria, and Yemen) have declined somewhat, the release suggests that political settlements may still be forming in 2019, with the United States likely to launch what is known as the "Century Deal" in the new year.
The issue presents opportunities and challenges for Cairo when it leads the African Union, especially in a changing regional environment with positive African indicators.
The policies of the non-Arab regional powers (Israel, Turkey, Ethiopia and Iran) have also been important to the region, predicting an uneven contraction of these forces, and seeking alternative paths of influence by internal crises and external pressures. As efforts to form security arrangements and alliances reflect the reality of the balance of power in the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, the issue sees the importance of Egypt's continued demarcation of the maritime border during the new year, especially as it is emerging as a regional energy player.
